COMMON ERRORS RELATED TO TENSE

4.I have pleasure to certify that shamim worked meritoriously for he last three years in our organisation. (x)

Answers

1.The first sentence says that Mohini works in present indefinite and there is not definite time mentioned here so we should not go with the present continues tense.

3.As his work was continuous because he was digging and found a ring. So past continuous tense should be used.

4.It is mentioned that Shamim is working since long and yet he is working and not left the job.Here it means that some work has done and some to be done in continuous so has been should be used because some part of the work is done and continuously doing the work in present to future. So, present perfect continuous tense should be used. present perfect for completed his done earlier and present continuous for let the work continued. So present perfect continuous tense is used instead of that.

5.Same as above as it will be in continuous tense.

6.Because ravi completed his some work so it can be said that not the very past but had completed so its past perfect and some was done after it so, it is in past indefinite.

8.Because the train’s time was confirm and was late by an hour. So they are saying in second line that it was late. So the tense should be in past rather than present.

10.We can never use two past form one after another as (did and was) used simultaneously.However the teacher remarked when? when some thing has happened. It means that he noticed after something happened. Something happened recently in past. i.e past perfect and teacher remarked it past indefinite.

हिंदी में-

1.पहला वाक्य कहता है कि मोहनी काम करती है परंतु कब करती है समय नही दिया गया है अतः हमें वर्तमान काल में present continues tense का अनुसरण नही करना चाहिए I

3.इसमें वह लगातार खाई या गड्ढा खोद रहा है और उसी दौरान उसे एक अंगुठी प्राप्त होती है न कि गड्ढा खोदा और अंगुठी मिली, अतः यहाँ past continuous tense का व्यवहार होना चाहिए I

4.यह कहा गया है कि समीम बहुत समय पहले से काम करते आ रहा है और काम आगे भी चलेगा किंतु अभी उसने तीन साल पूरे किए हैं इसलिए present perfect continuous tense का व्यवहार किया जाना उचित होगा I

5.उपरोक्त वाक्य की तरह ही नियम है I

6.जैसा कि रवी ने कुछ काम पुरा किया है और कुछ काम वह उसके बाद किया, किंतु जो काम कुछ समय पहले ही समाप्त हुआ उसके लिये past perfect और जो काम उसके बाद किया तो वहाँ past indefinite. हो जायेगा I

8.जैसा कि ट्रेन का समय निर्धारित था कल और वह एक घण्टा देर थी तो जब कल कहा गया है तो वह भूतकाल का वाक्य है इसलिए यहाँ पहले वाक्य में past tense का व्यवहार होना चाहिए I

10.दो एक ही वाक्य में दो past tense का व्यवहार गलत है और यहाँ या तो was या did होना चाहिए , जबकि शिक्षक ने कब ध्यान दिया जब उनहोने कुछ क्रिया को कर लिया है अर्थात past perfect में हुआ है और उसके बाद देखा तो यह past indefinite वाला वाक्य हुआ I
