Whose shows relation and Who’s mean “who
is” are generally used to make a question.
(Whose अर्थात् किसका और Who’s अर्थात् कौन है।)
Example
Whose is this box?
Who’s at your room?
2.Rain,Reign and Rein.
Rain is a verb and Reign is also a verb but Rein
is a noun.
Rain- Drops of water fall from cloud.Reign- Reign
means to make rule over and where as Rein mean administration means all
the empowerment in one’s hand.
(Rain और Reign दोनो क्रिया है किंतु Rein एक संज्ञा है, Rain अर्थात् वर्षा और Reign का मतलब शासन करना जब्कि Rein का तात्पर्य बागडोर, जिसके हाँथ में लगाम होती है।)
Example
It’s raining cats and dogs.
Samrat Ashok reign over Kalinga.
Whenever the reins were pulled the dog stooped barking.
Ordinance means an order which is specific and Ordnance
means an artillery where weapons and other things are kept.
(Ordinance का मतलब एक विशिष्ट आदेश जब्कि Ordnance का मतलब तोपखाना जहाँ औजार और शस्त्र रखे जाते है ।)
Example
The pope had issued an emergency ordinance on 25th
December.
He had been working in the ordnance depot since 1902.
4.Physic and Physique.
Physic denote medicine and its a noun whereas Physique
imply a body.
(Physic अर्थात् दवा और वहीं दुसरी तरफ Physique का मतलब शरीर।)
Example
If you do not care for your disease then no physic can
cure you.
I have seen him playing football and he has a fine
physique.
5.Respectable,Respectful and Respective.
All the above three are an adjective. Respectable
is a goodwill or equity other hand Respectful means with due respect and
Respective mean one’s own.
(Respectable, का मतलब प्रतिष्ठा और वहीं Respectful का मतलब सम्मानपुर्ण जब्कि Respective का मतलब अपनी-अपनी ।)
Example
The principal of this school is a respectable gentleman.
One should be respectful to one’s parents.
The bell rang and all the students went to their
respective classes.
6.Root,Rout and Route.
Root as we know the (root) of tree and other hand
Route means defeat or debacle however Route means the way or track
of journey.
(Root अर्थात् जड वहीं Rout का मतलब हार या पराजय जब्कि Route से मुराद यात्रा का रास्ता से है, ये तीनो ही संज्ञा है ।).
Example
Love of money is the root of all evils.
The rout of the army was near.
What is the railway route between Kolkata and Mumbai.
7.Principal and Principle.
Both are a noun.Principal mean the major of the
school or college whereas Principle means any law.
(Principal अर्थात् प्रधानाचार्य जब्कि Principle मतलब सिद्धान्त ही ।ये दोनो ही संज्ञा हैं ।)
Example
Who is the principal of your college?
My teacher was a man of principles.
8.Valuable and In-valuable.
Valuable is an adjective denote precious but one can
draw a value of it but In-valuable means that can not be valued means a
precious and can’t be determine the value of it.
(Valuable अर्थात् बहुमूल्य, जो बहुत किमती होता है और वहीं दुसरी तरफ In-valuable का मतलब अमुल्य अर्थात् जिसकी किमत तय न की जा सके ।)
Example
This is a valuable manuscript.
A good name is an invaluable thing.
9.Uninterested and Disinterested.
Uninterested means without any intention whereas Disinterested
means who don’t take any one’s preference and having his own decision.
(Uninterested अर्थात् बिना रूची के जब्कि Disinterested का तात्पर्य निष्पक्ष से है अर्थात् जो किसी का भी पक्ष नही लेता और खुद का निस्पाक निर्णय या राय बताता है ।)
Example
I am uninterested in inactive games.
Let us ask any disinterested man to settle our dispute.
10.Notable and Notorious.
Both are adjective but Notable is used for the thing
who is famous enough for good things whereas Notorious is used for the
person/thing who is famous but in bad things.
(Notable अर्थात उल्लेखनीय विख्यात (अच्छे अर्थ में
प्रसिद्ध) जब्कि Notorious का मतलब कुख्यात (बुरे अर्थ में प्रसिद्ध ।)
Example
August 15,1947 is a notable day in the history of India.
He is notorious gambler.
