Idioms and Phrases Group A
1. At sixes and Sevens (तितर-बितर In disorder)
Here it means not in order. Learning trick- Suppose Satchin Tendulkar is batting and hit a six but it goes to seven sky mean out of stadium.Means it is not in order because if it in
the order then its only be a six as we know there is not any seven in the cricket so its a disorder.
2.Bag and Baggage (सारे समान सहितWith full luggage)
Bag and Baggage mean here you will see two times the bag is mentioned so means you included more bags into a single bag means your bag is getting heavier so you utmost tried to fill all your luggage in the bag so that you not left a single thing at your home.
3.Cry for the moon (असंभव अभिलाषाAn unattainable ambition)
Generally you know that moon does not cry if you are crying for the moon it doesn’t mean that moon will also cry with you. So you can’t love to moon as your spouse because its your maternal uncle.So, its an unattainable ambition)
4.Dance attendance on one (आगे-पिछे घुमनाWalking around front or back)
Suppose you had not gone to a class but you are dancing in front of or back side of your master to make him impress by your dance that he will mark your yesterday’s attendance as present.
5.Easy Money (रिश्वतBribe)
Its quite easy to understand that if one is getting money easily from someone it means one is taking a bribe.One another method to remember it, probably you have seen advertisement of “Ezee” of woolen wash.Here you will have to assume that you are sitting on a bench along with table and someone giving you Bribe hiding,under of the table.Here of advertisement is not a bribe but for your assumption the example is given.
6.Blue-eyed boys (पसन्दिदा Favorite)
Suppose you are going for a shopping to purchase a dress and your favorite colour is blue.when you asked for a boy to show your favorite colour but there was not any colour present in the shop but the only boy who showing you dresses have Blue eyes than suddenly all the dresses becomes blue in colour because the boy of blue eye have make it happen to give the blue colour from his eyes continuously gazing to all the dresses in the shop So, you purchase your dress of your favorite colour with the help of blue eyed boy.
7.Out of thin air (अचानक प्रकट हो जानाAppear suddenly)
A thin air is coming from your half closed window.You feeling colder as it’s a winter season and suddenly “Wind God” appeared when you was going to closing your window.The wind God “Waruna” make you know that this air will make your mind fresh and make you well, taking all your worries from you.so keep slightly open the door.
8.At snail’s pace (बहुत धीमी गति से कार्य करनाTo do things very slowly)
Sun is yet to dawn and your are showing your nail to Sun because you have now wounded finger with no nail. But till the evening your nail will not grow and will not take all the space of your finger because Sun will provide space to your nail.So, the Sun is also rising slowly and slowly and it will long time as 12 hours to make the evening.So, its doing things very slowly.

9.At one’s wit’s end (कुछ सूझनाTo get Puzzled)
One means someone wit means sense, ends means stopped. So, when one ending from the wit then one can not identify anything because of puzzled.
10.Capital Punishment (मौत की सजाDeath penalty)
Suppose there is a king and he had lots of Capital.But after his death he had been buried beneath of the kingdom as it was his death penalty.He punished because he had lots of capital.
